Governor KP to participate in jirga as Kurram bloodshed enters 11th day
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi will travel to Kohat today to participate in a Jirga with political and tribal leaders, in an effort to address the ongoing crisis in Kurram District.
Provincial political leaders are currently assembling at the Governor’s House in Peshawar before departing for Kohat.
The ongoing arrival of leaders from various political parties at the Governor’s House continues.
The Governor is leading a delegation of provincial political leaders to Kohat to engage in discussions aimed at resolving the conflict.
Deadly tribal clashes in Pakistan’s Kurram District continued for an eleventh day on Sunday, leaving six more dead and eight injured, bringing the total death toll to 130 and injuries to 186.

The ongoing violence has forced the closure of the main Peshawar-Parachinar road and the Pak-Afghan Kharlachi border crossing, causing shortages of essential supplies like fuel, food, and medicine in the region.
A communication blackout, including suspended mobile and internet services, further compounds the crisis, with schools also closed.
A ten-day truce declared last week has proven ineffective due to persistent fighting, which began eleven days prior with deadly ambushes on two police convoys. The situation remains volatile, with police struggling to restore order.
