Constable killed in attack on Lakki Marwat police station
A police constable was killed in a late-night attack on a police station in Lakki Marwat district.
Police sources reported that the attack on the Dara Pezo police station occurred under the cover of darkness. Gunmen, using heavy weaponry and sniper rifles, opened fire from two sides, fatally wounding Constable Karam Ullah.
A fierce gun battle ensued between the attackers and police, lasting approximately one hour. After a strong police response, the attackers fled the scene. Following the incident, police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
This attack comes just one day after three individuals, including a Punjab Police Sub-Inspector, were killed in a shooting incident in the Pahaṛ Khēl Pakha area of Lakki Marwat. Police reports indicate that the slain police officer was off-duty and at home when the attack occurred.
The Chief Minister and Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have condemned the attack and expressed their condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims. The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges faced in the region.
