PTI calls key meeting on Bushra Bibi’s future as Gandapur denies rift
Imran Khan’s PTI has called a parliamentary party meeting of the members of national and provincial assemblies in Peshawar to discuss future role for the wife of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi.
The meeting is scheduled for 5pm on Friday and participants would discuss the possibility of keeping Bushra Bibi away from politics, reported Aaj News Peshawar Bureau Chief Farzana Ali.
A few hours before the meeting was schedule to take place, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur issued a statement denying reports of a rift between him and Bushra Bibi.
There were reports of a heated exchange between Busrha Bibi and Ali Amin Gandapur after they returned to Peshawar on Thursday and held a core committee meeting of the party.
However, Gandapur said in his statement on Friday that reports about disagreement between him and Bushra Bibi were baseless and ‘mere propaganda.’
Gandapur said the primary objective was to secure the release of Imran Khan, “who is facing baseless cases.”
Bushra Bibi’s spokesperson Mashaal Yousafzai told reporters that Bibi did not attend the core committee meeting in the first place.
She said Bushra Bibi merely maintains that she led the party workers to D-Chowk on the instructions of Imran Khan but party leaders failed to show up there.
