Over 1,200 cases registered against kite makers and kite flyers

Police raided Pattoki, Hafizabad and Lahore making multiple arrests

Over 1,200 cases have been registered across Punjab after Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz ordered police officials to crack down on for kite flyers and kite makers.

The Lahore police registered 1285 cases and arrested 1330 during search operations.

The police said that the arrested people include 1,223 kite flyers, 95 kite sellers and 12 kite makers and they recovered more than 19,700 kites and 1,116 string reels.

In Hafizabad, the police performed a search operation against kite sellers and kite flyers. The officials have registered more than 90 cases against people in the city.

Police have arrested many kite sellers and kite flyers seizing kites, string wheels and other items from the raids.

In Pattoki, the police officials raided a kite production factory and chemical strings. The officials have secured hundreds of kites and other items, arresting three kite flyers and the factory owner.

A 22-year-old man died in Faisalabad after he fell off his motorcycle when a string slit his throat on March 22.

Many people called out the police for failing to impose rules and regulations for kite flying.
