Co-actor, lawyer refute claims about Saeeda Imtiaz’s death
Pakistani supermodel, film, and drama industry’s leading actress Saeeda Imtiaz is alive and the reports of her death are false, said a co-actor and a legal firm reportedly representing Imtiaz on Tuesday.
Earlier in the morning, a story on her verified Instagram account said that she had passed away.
However, fresh reports claim that her social media accounts had been hacked.
The Instagram story on Imtiaz’s verified Instagram account states that Saeeda was found dead in her room on Tuesday morning.
The news of the actress’s death spread like wildfire on social media and is being shared by fan pages.
Saeeda Imtiaz has worked in films like Kulfi, Redram, Thoda Setting Thoda Pyaar, and “Kaptaan”.
She is known for her portrayal of Jemima Khan in the biography of former Prime Minister, Imran Khan. The film was not released due to various reasons.
In addition to her work in movies and television, Saeeda received a lot of praise for modeling.
Accounts hacked
A few hours after the alleged reports of her death spread, some social media pages reported that Saeeda Imtiaz is fine and the news of her death was false.
Saida’s Instagram account and Facebook are said to have been hacked and this story has been posted by hackers, the social media pages claimed.
Her co-actor in the reality show Tamasha, Saim Ali, also said that she is alive and that her social media accounts had been hacked.
“Alhamdulillah, my friend is perfectly fine and it was a fake news,” he wrote.
However, people were unable to reach the actress
A legal firm that said it represented Saeeda Imtiaz also questioned the reports of her death and said that they will come up with a clarification soon.
“[Her] death is not confirmed, please don’t trust any news of her death yet. As her legal advisor I will clear it soon. Pray for her health,” said Mian Shahbaz Ahmad Advocate.
When reporters tried to reach Saeeda Imtiaz on her phone, they also found it switched off.
Correction: An earlier version of our reporting on this case quoted Saeeda Imtiaz’s verified Instagram account post that she had passed away. The story was updated hours later when celebrities clarified that the Instagram post was incorrect. The error is regretted and the stories have been corrected across our platforms.
