SWAT: An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 jolted Swat and surrounding areas on Friday but no causalities or property damages were reported.

Earthquake tremors were felt in different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) including Sibi, Swat, Lower Dir, Shangla and its suburban parts.

According to meteorological department, tremours measuring 5.6 on Richter scale were felt in Swat and its surrounding areas.

People of the areas where quake was felt rushed out their houses, buildings in panic reciting verses from Holy Quran but no causalities or property damages were reported from any area.

The epi-centre of quake was stated to be in 27 kilometer West of Ishkashem in Afghanistan at depth of 22 kilometer inside earth crust.
