Russia tests anti-satellite missile, US general says
The U.S. space general has said on Wednesday Russia tested a missile capable of knocking out satellites in orbit.
According to U.S. Space Command, the Russian anti-satellite missile (also known as “ASAT”) is capable of destroying satellites in low Earth orbit
“This test is further proof of Russia’s hypocritical advocacy of outer space arms control proposals designed to restrict the capabilities of the United States while clearly having no intention of halting their counter space weapons programs.” commander of U.S. Space added.
Russia last conducted a test of its PL-19 Nudol anti-satellite missile system in December 2018.
