The federal government on Monday appointed Nausheen Amjad Javed as a new head of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Aaj News reported

The decision was taken after the government ended the honourary appointment of Shabbar Zaid as FBR chairman.

Ms Nausheen, who is from Inland Revenue Services, was performing as the acting chief of the tax collection authority since Zaidi went on leave for indefinite period due to his illness.
