Pakistan suspends flights to and from china amid Coronavirus threat
Pakistan has suspended all flight operations to and from China as the death toll from a Coronavirus outbreak spreading in China and the World Health Organisation called it a global health emergency.
According to a notification issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the direct flight operation will remain suspended till February 02, 2020.
According to Reuters, Additional Secretary of Civil Aviation Abdul Sattar Khokhar said that flights to China have been suspended until February 2. The authorities will evaluate the situation and decide whether to extend the flight suspension, local media reported.
At least 213 people have died and as many as 10,000 cases of the Wuhan virus have been confirmed by China. Eight cases of the infection have also been reported in Germany, Japan, Vietnam and the United States.
Earlier On January 24, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) decided to suspend flights to Beijing until January 30 to prevent coronavirus infection spread in Pakistan.
