Another case of alleged Police brutality claims life in Karachi
Officers from the Karachi police opened fire on a car near Cantt Station without any just reason in the wee hours of Friday.
As a result of firing one person was pronounced dead while other was declared injured. The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Nabil Hoodbhoy and the injured as Raza Imam.
All four policemen belonging to Gizri police station have been arrested.
The survivor of the attack, Imam in his statement stated that, the police followed us from Khadda Market but we didn’t realize they were following us. When they stopped the car near the Cantt Station, the policemen without any warning opened fire. Imam also told the police that he and Hoodbhoy were in the import and export business.
The policemen are currently in custody. The 9mm pistol used to fire at the car has been seized.
A case has been lodged against the three policemen at the Artillery Maidan police station on behalf of Imam.
Governor Sindh takes notice of Killing
Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has taken notice of the incident and asked Inspector General Sindh to submit the report regarding the incident on early basis.
