Commemorative coin issued on the 550th birthday of Baba Grunanak

The government of Pakistan on Tuesday issued commemorative coin to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh religion.

One side of the coin has the image of Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib, while the other side of the coin is engraved with the words of 'Islamic Republic of Pakistan'.

Sikh pilgrims visiting Gurdwara Kartarpur will be able to buy coin of worth Rs50.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will formally inaugurate the corridor on November 9, three days before the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak.

The postage stamps will also be issued, which will be worth Rs8 and could be used commonly, will have the image of Gurdwara Janam Asthan.
