Nawaz Sharif does not need any NRO-Maryam Nawaz
ISLAMABAD,:Maryam Nawaz, a leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and daughter of former prime minister
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Wednesday said Nawaz Sharif did not need any NRO.
Those discussing about NRO, should disclose the name of
second party, she added.
Talking to a private television channel , Maryam Nawaz said the elements playing role against Nawaz Sharif, should know that the former prime minister was still popular among the masses.
She said that those elements using tactics against Nawaz Sharif had no place anywhere and they were also unacceptable.
Replying to a question regarding statement of Asif Ali Zardari, she said, "We cannot expect such statements from him."
She said giving statements on policy matters of PML-N was
the right of senior party's leadership.
"I never crossed the seniority line in the party," she said.
PML-N was a democratic party and she also had the right to give
opinion, she added.
To a question, Maryam Nawaz viewed that the court's decision
of disqualifying Nawaz Sharif was taken in haste and, adding, it
was the stance of PML-N.
She was of the view that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif
should not have compromised on matters of principle, because it
was taken as his weakness. Nawaz Sharif compromised and sacrificed
just to put the country on path of speedy progress, she added.
Maryam Nawaz said there was nothing in the Volume-10 of JIT,
as she had seen it. If there had been anything in the Volume-10,
the decision was not given on "Iqama".
The lawyers of Sharif family had submitted evidences or
documentary proofs before the JIT and Supreme Court but the
decision was given on having "Iqama."
To another question, Maryam Nawaz said Nawaz Sharif, still
had all options. With parliament supreme, there must be respect
for all the national institutions. "If other institutions are
constitutional, parliament is the constitution making
institution," she maintained.
Maryam Nawaz said "Panama case has nothing to do with
corruption or money laundering, a fact also admitted the ones who
made the Panama Papers public."
She said there were no corruption charges on Nawaz Sharif
during his three tenures as prime minister as well as during the
stints as chief minister in Punjab.-APP
