SC adjourns hearing into Panama papers case till June 7

ISLAMABAD: The three-member special bench of the Supreme Court for implementation of Panama Case adjourned the hearing till 7th of next month. The bench is headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal.

The Joint Investigation Team on the Case submitted its first report to the bench today.

In his remarks on the report, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed said the Court has full confidence in the team and its work.

He asked the JIT to inform the court of any hurdles if created by any institution or if cooperation of any institution is required.

Justice Ejaz Afzal directed the head of JIT Wajid Zia to complete the investigation process within sixty days.

The bench also rejected PTI`s plea to share the report.

Later talking to media Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said the Court has expressed satisfaction over the first report of Joint Investigation Team on Panama Case.

She said all relevant institutions are fully cooperating with the JIT.

The Minister said PTI has once again tried to put an unconstitutional demand before the court which was rejected.

She said PTI is used to do politics of baseless allegations.

PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz said the PTI chief is just trying to evade investigation about his party`s foreign funding. -Radio Pakistan
