'Pakistan urges US to play its role for resolution of Kashmir dispute'
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has called on the United States to play role for defusing tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi by resolving Kashmir issue.
Speaking in television programme of World Affairs Council, a Washington-based think-tank in New York, Pakistan's Ambassador to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi said that solution of Kashmir is important for lasting peace in the region.
She said the grave situation in Occupied Kashmir and it poses a critical threat to regional peace and security.
Regretting the continuing tensions between India and Pakistan, the ambassador underscored the need for a dialogue to resolve Kashmir and other issues between the two countries. -Radio Pakistan
