KESC employees protest in Karachi
KESC employees on Friday protesting against their laid off  jobs and two people attempted to burn themselves, Aaj news reported.
According to the sources, laid off employees of Karachi Electric supply Company (KESC) continued to protest against their jobs in Gizri area of the economical hub today.
Meanwhile two people tried to burn themselves who were later shifted to the hospital.
Senior labour leader and Chairman KESC CBA Union, Ikhlaq Ahmed addressed the protesters and said that 500 employees were laid off while over 4,000 employees were put in the surplus list. He vowed to continue the peaceful protest until their demands are met.
Heavy police and rangers were deployed in the area to control the protesters.
