Two people have been killed and several injured in motorway pileup caused by dense fog Thursday morning, sources said.

According to the report, at least 18  people have been injured in the pileup involving dozens of vehicles. The accident took place on the motorway near Farroqabad, Shekikhupura due to dense fog.

After the accident, motorway was closed between Thokar Niaz Baig and Pindi Bhattian.

the 18 seriously injured people were shifted to DHQ Sheikhupura.

Dense fog has covered plains of Punjab while motorway from Thokar to Kala Shah Kaku also stands closed.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted dense fog from Peshawar to Sawabi, Islamabad to Lahore and Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad. Motorway police have advised the drivers to drive at a low speed and keep the fog lights on.
