Pakistan thrashed India 4-1 to clinch third place in the International Super hockey Series in Perth on Sunday.

Muhammad Waqas scored two goals, while Shakeel Abbasi and Mohammad Farid chipped in with one goal each.

India and Pakistan also met earlier in the round-robin stages of the tournament, and finished in a one-one draw.

Innovative competition featured a nine-a-side format, with halves shortened to 15 minutes and the goals widened.
