Veteran actor Dilip Kumar in hospital?
Legendary actor Dilip Kumar was rumoured to be hospitalised on Thursday following complications owing to urinary infection. The Hospital authorities had even confirmed that the thespian is on the road to recovery and there is no reason to worry. "His condition is stable and one need not worry about anything. He is in the ward," an official at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital said. However, when Zeenews contacted the actor’s personal secretary, he denied this news and said that Kumar is in pink of his health and at home. When enquired, Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu told a daily, “For every such rumour there are a trillion prayers going up to the Almighty from his fans, well wishers and family members to give him long life and good health. I understand the concern of the media and have no complaints. I am distressed that there are idle minds which come up with such rumours as some kind of a past time at regular intervals to spread needless anxiety and panic. I request the mischief makers whoever they are to use their spare time and abilities for good work and in good ways.†“I am releasing this statement with a tinge of displeasure because this is not the first time such a rumour has spread without any basis, reason or cause. I have been woken up from sleep at odd hours this time and on previous occasions by phone calls seeking to know the fact and my staff and close friends have also had to answer calls at odd hours just because some sadistic mind has been at work and has triggered a distasteful rumour,†she added. The veteran, who has acted in classic films like `Devdas`, `Mughl-e-Azam`, `Naya Daur`, `Ganga Jamuna` and `Leader` was reportedly admitted to the Apollo Hospital in New Delhi after his condition worsened.
