The provincial capital’s air quality remained hazardous across multiple areas.

The AQI was recorded at 663 on Ravi Road, 559 on Mall Road, 530 on Lower Mall, 529 in Allama Iqbal Town and 459 in Defence.

It claims to be one of the largest dedicated nonhuman primate facilities in the United States, housing over 6,000 monkeys.

While the Sheriff’s Department has not disclosed the specific species of the escaped monkeys, Alpha Genesis primarily works with capuchin and macaque monkeys, according to their website.

It is noteworthy that Masood, a prominent religious scholar known for his statements on “multiple marriages,” is facing allegations of blasphemy due to a recent speech.

Following the uproar on social media, a FIR for “blasphemy” was registered against Masood at a police station in Karachi. In response, he released a video statement on social media, clarifying his words and issuing an apology for any misunderstanding.

Filmed on October 6, the video depicts Sinwar walking through an underground tunnel with his wife and children, as they carry supplies to a bunker later uncovered by the IDF.

The platform stated that it believes in the autonomy of adults to engage with and create content that reflects their own beliefs, desires, and experiences, including those related to “sexuality.” But the social media giant has also put in place measures to restrict the exposure of such content to minors and users who have opted out of viewing it.

The policy update further clarifies that X will not tolerate content that promotes “exploitation, non-consent, objectification, sexualization, or harm to minors, as well as obscene behaviours.” Users are required to properly label their adult content and can also add a one-time content warning on individual posts.

Brooke Erin Duffy, an associate professor of communication at Cornell University, is of the view that such a move by X “dovetails well with the company’s post-Musk marketing strategy,” as it seeks to distinguish itself from “brand-safe” competitors like Meta, YouTube, and TikTok.

The decision to allow adult content on the platform comes after Twitter, prior to Musk’s takeover, already had a significant presence of such content, estimated at around 13% of all posts on the platform.

She titled her speech ‘The Power of Not Knowing’. In an X clip, Kumar was “sad” about other undergraduates who did not graduate.

“I am deeply disappointed by the intolerance for freedom of speech and the right to civil disobedience on campus,” she said as she shared that 13 colleagues from her batch will not graduate.

“Harvard! Do you hear us? This semester freedom of speech, expression and solidarity became punishment,” Kumar said as she received a standing ovation and applause.

She added that it was about civil rights upholding democratic principles.

“The students had spoken. The faculty had spoken. Harvard, do you hear us?” she said.

In 2023, she said that the Israel-Hamas war awaited them. The whole campus was divided about their stance and this again was a moment of “uncertainty and unrest across campus” and of “not knowing.”

She emphasised that there was “pain, anxiety and unrest across campus” due the Gaza situation.

Kumar is the eldest daughter of South Asian immigrants. She is the first in her family to attend a college in the US.

The incident has brought attention to the increasing tensions on college campuses across the United States in the wake of the Israel-Hamas conflict, as well as a surge in reported antisemitic and anti-Muslim incidents.

In a statement to the CNN, ASU President Michael Crow announced that the scholar, Jonathan Yudelman, affiliated with ASU’s School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership, will not be permitted to teach at the university anymore.

The video is currently under investigation by university officials, captured Yudelman confronting and cursing at the woman in the hijab.

The university had previously placed Yudelman on leave following the incident, and Crow stated that he would “never teach here again.”

The incident at the ASU is not an isolated event.

The 58-second video shows Yudelman repeatedly moving toward a woman wearing a hijab as she tries to distance herself from him.

In the video, the woman can be heard stating that he is disrespecting her religious boundaries, to which Yudelman responds with an offensive remark.

The context leading up to and following the incident remains unclear, and efforts are being made to verify the source of the video.

Yudelman was interviewed by a news crew on the same day, where he expressed concerns about campuses being taken over by “supporters of terrorism and Jewish students facing intimidation.”

The ASU and the Tempe Police Department are investigating the incident.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations in Arizona has condemned Yudelman’s behaviour captured in the video and called for his termination if the allegations are substantiated.

It was revealed that Yudelman had already submitted his resignation from the ASU, which was scheduled to be effective on June 30, prior to the altercation.

Protests related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict have been taking place on various campuses across the country, leading to confrontations and arrests.

At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), at least nine pro-Palestinian student protesters were arrested on campus.

Meanwhile, more than 800 faculty and staff members at the University of California Los Angeles have called for the resignation of Chancellor Gene Block.

The group claims that the school’s administration has mistreated individuals involved in recent protests on campus.

Hafiz Sajid and Hafiz Abid are the two brothers. A video of the two brothers singing a song in Punjabi has gone viral on social media.

Farmers across Punjab have been protesting against what they call the government’s “plagued” wheat procurement policy.

Punjab contributes more than 75% of the total wheat harvest, according to media reports and this year the market crashed and growers are forced to sell the staple food crop much below the support price set by the government.

They claim that the government procured wheat despite having surplus production in the country.

The farmers won’t grow wheat next year if the government does not buy the crop from them and provide any relief, Kissan Ittehad Chairman Khalid Hussain Bath said earlier this month.

“The government will never be able to bear the loss,” he said in an interview with Dus with Imran Khan which was aired on Aaj News on May 05.
