In the first incident, two police officials, including a sub-inspector, were killed when a suspected proclaimed offender opened fire on a police team during a raid in the Badami Bagh area.

According to police sources, a team of Larri Adda police conducted a raid to arrest proclaimed offenders when suspect Rehan allegedly opened fire on the officials. Sub-Inspector Adeel and Head Constable Asad were killed on the spot.

The suspect fled the scene following the attack. Police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to arrest him.

Police said Rehan’s brother, Faizan, had been killed in an alleged police encounter some time ago. Faizan was accused of killing more than one police official in separate firing incidents, according to police.

Police have launched a further investigation into the Badami Bagh incident and are conducting raids at different locations to arrest the fleeing suspect.

Police official killed in Nawan Kot firing

In a separate incident, a police official, Haris Saleem, was killed and three others, identified as Owais, Shafiq and Azam, were injured when unidentified assailants opened fire on police personnel in Nawan Kot.

A passer-by was also injured in the firing. The injured were shifted to hospital for medical treatment.

CCTV footage of the Nawan Kot incident showed the attackers opening fire on the police officials.

Following the two incidents, police launched operations to arrest the suspects and investigate the attacks.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran expressed deep grief over the deaths of the police officials.

He said the officers had sacrificed their lives while performing their duties and vowed that their sacrifices would not go in vain.

The DIG said those involved in the attacks would be arrested at all costs.
