The delegation met Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics and measures to further strengthen defence and security cooperation.

According to Pakistan’s military, both sides underscored the importance of enhancing military-to-military ties and capacity building initiatives to address common security challenges.

The Somali defence minister appreciated Pakistan’s support and the role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting regional peace and stability. Field Marshal reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Somalia in strengthening its security apparatus and fostering lasting peace in the region.

The Somali delegation also met Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, at Naval Headquarters, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, at Air Headquarters in Islamabad.

During the naval meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual professional interest, regional maritime security and bilateral defence cooperation, while Pakistan’s naval chief reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening defence ties with Somalia.

At Air Headquarters, discussions focused on bilateral defence cooperation, professional collaboration and capacity building. The air chief highlighted the Pakistan Air Force’s indigenous capability development, training and professional exchanges, reaffirming support for institutional cooperation with the Somali Air Force.

The Somali defence minister praised the Pakistan Navy’s contributions to regional maritime security and the Pakistan Air Force’s professionalism and operational capabilities.
