      <title>Field Marshal visits NDMA operations centre, reviews monsoon preparedness</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS &amp;amp; CDF), visited the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) headquarters on Tuesday to review Pakistan’s disaster preparedness and response arrangements for the ongoing monsoon season.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief received a detailed briefing on the country’s disaster management framework, the prevailing monsoon situation and coordinated response mechanisms for dealing with emergencies.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;NDMA Chairman briefed the COAS on the operational capabilities of the NEOC and its technology-enabled response systems, including Disaster Lens 2026, which provides real-time monitoring of the monsoon situation and multiple disaster risks across the country.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The briefing also covered the centre’s multi-hazard monitoring mechanisms and efforts to improve coordination among relevant institutions during emergencies.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Field Marshal Asim Munir praised the NDMA’s efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s national disaster management capacity.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He stressed the importance of preparedness, effective inter-agency coordination and swift response to safeguard human lives and critical infrastructure during natural disasters.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The army chief reaffirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully prepared to assist the civil administration and the NDMA in relief, rescue and rehabilitation operations whenever required.&lt;/p&gt;
