The FIR was lodged at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Swat on the complaint of the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kabal police station.

It includes charges under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and other terrorism-related provisions.

According to the FIR, a protest organised by the Pasoon organisation was underway at Kabal Chowk when an explosion occurred at the main gate of Kabal police station at approximately 6.04pm.

The FIR states that preliminary findings suggest the attack may have been carried out by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander Muzaffar and other militants active in the area.

However, the sources said that the investigation was still going on.

Meanwhile, a Swat police spokesperson said that two more injured police personnel, Constable Mukarram Khan and Constable Hussain Khan, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Their deaths have raised the overall death toll from the suicide attack to 17.

The spokesperson added that 13 injured police personnel remain under treatment at the hospital.
