In a statement, Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence said its air defence systems successfully intercepted the drones after they entered the country’s airspace.

The ministry’s official spokesperson, Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, said the Iranian drone attack targeted several strategic locations, including a government facility in northern Kuwait and civilian vehicles belonging to a private company on Bubiyan Island.

Although falling debris caused material damage, no casualties were reported, he added.

The Kuwaiti armed forces said they remain on high alert and are continuing to coordinate with relevant authorities to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, security and stability, while measures have been taken to ensure the safety of citizens and residents.

The incident came as Iran’s military accused the United States of inflaming the regional conflict and warned neighbouring countries against supporting Washington.

“The United States is rapidly moving down the path of escalating tensions in the region,” Ali Abdollahi, head of Iran’s military central command, said in a statement broadcast on state television.

“Any country serving as a defensive shield for criminal and aggressive America will be engulfed by the flames of war,” he warned.

The remarks followed renewed threats by US President Donald Trump, who said Washington was prepared to strike Iran “very hard.”

US media reports said Trump was considering launching fresh attacks as early as this weekend, including possible strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure.

The latest developments come as Iran and the United States resumed exchanging overnight attacks earlier this week after a brief lull in hostilities, although no new strikes were reported overnight from Friday into Saturday.
