Four terrorists killed in Khuzdar operation: ISPR

Security forces killed four terrorists and destroyed two explosives-laden vehicles during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on July 30 after intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy, Fitna al-Hindustan.

The ISPR said security forces proactively intercepted the movement of two explosives-laden vehicles configured as vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs), which were being operated by the militants.

Following swift action by the troops, both VBIEDs were destroyed and all four Indian-sponsored terrorists operating them were neutralised before they could carry out an attack, the statement said.

The military’s media wing said a sanitisation operation was continuing in the area to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the vicinity.

The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue their counterterrorism campaign under the Azm-e-Istehkam strategy, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, to eliminate the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

The latest operation is part of ongoing intelligence-based operations against militant groups in Balochistan, where security forces have stepped up counterterrorism efforts in recent months.
