The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain across Karachi and other parts of Sindh from July 31 to August 2.

The Met Office said moderate rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds were expected in the provincial capital.

Monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are currently affecting the upper and central parts of the country, while another westerly weather system is present over the northern regions and is expected to intensify from August 1, the Met Office said.

The combined weather systems are likely to trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in several districts of Sindh between the evening of July 31 and August 2.

The districts expected to receive significant rainfall include Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Khairpur and surrounding areas.

For Karachi, the PMD has forecast moderate rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds during the same period.
