During the meeting in Karachi, Naqvi briefed the president on the prevailing security situation in the two provinces and the government’s ongoing measures to combat terrorism.

President Zardari paid tribute to the bravery, professionalism and sacrifices of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and police in the fight against terrorism.

He said the entire nation stands firmly behind the country’s security forces in efforts to eradicate terrorism and establish lasting peace.

“The whole nation stands with its security forces for the elimination of terrorism and the establishment of sustainable peace in the country,” the president said.

The meeting also included a detailed discussion on the country’s current political situation, while both leaders exchanged views on other matters of national importance and mutual interest.
