The case was filed before the court of the Senior Civil Judge (East) under the Fatal Accidents Act in connection with the death of Talha Zaheer, who was killed in March 2026 after being struck by a speeding water tanker near Chamra Chowrangi in Korangi Industrial Area.

According to the petitioner’s counsel, Usman Farooq, Talha Zaheer died at the scene of the accident after being run over by the tanker.

He told the court that a medical report had confirmed that the victim’s death was caused by injuries sustained in the accident.

The petitioner argued that the deceased was the sole breadwinner of his family and that his death had left his dependants facing severe financial hardship.

The compensation suit seeks more than Rs1.3 billion in damages and requests the court to hold the tanker owner and driver responsible for the fatal accident and order them to pay legal compensation to the victim’s family.
