The understanding was reached during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Iranian counterpart, Eskandar Momeni, in Islamabad.

The two ministers reviewed bilateral relations and exchanged views on the latest regional developments, with a focus on enhancing cooperation in key security-related areas.

Momeni thanked Pakistan for the warm reception accorded to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and his delegation during their recent visit to the country.

Naqvi congratulated the Iranian interior minister on the joint declaration issued in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, describing it as a significant diplomatic achievement. He said the agreement reflected the sincere efforts of the Iranian government and its leadership.

The interior minister reiterated that Pakistan has consistently advocated peace and stability and would continue supporting efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
