The Iranian president stressed that comments made outside the agreed framework of the deal would not help move talks forward.

“The effectiveness of the talks with the US depends on full commitment to the agreed obligations and their precise implementation,” Pezeshkian wrote on X.

He said progress would be judged by “practical adherence to accepted responsibilities” and added that “statements outside the agreed text do not help advance the negotiations.”

His remarks came after US and Iranian officials met on Sunday at the Swiss resort of Burgenstock under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

Iran and the United States announced on June 14 that they had reached a 14-point agreement, brokered by Pakistan, aimed at ending the conflict and resolving outstanding disputes through dialogue.

The accord, known as the Islamabad Understanding, came into force on June 18 after being electronically signed by President Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump.

The agreement includes provisions aimed at ending hostilities, including in Lebanon, reopening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting the US naval blockade imposed on Iran.
