      <title>French woman rescued from alleged domestic abuse in Khyber</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;A French woman who was the victim of alleged domestic violence in Khyber’s Bara tehsil has been rescued along with her four children, officials said on Monday.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr Mian Saeed, French national Salwa Yasmin was recovered during a raid conducted on June 18 following a tip-off.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He said she was reportedly being subjected to abuse inside a house in the area.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The CCPO said the woman had married a Pakistani national and had been residing in Bara since 2014.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The woman told authorities she had been mistreated by her husband and was not allowed to leave the house.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Police said the French woman and her four children have been moved to the women police station in Peshawar. She has expressed a desire to return to France.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Officials added that further investigations and legal proceedings are underway.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Foreign Office has been contacted and a letter sent to the French embassy through diplomatic channels.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A case has also been registered against the woman’s husband, police said.&lt;/p&gt;
