The strike, which began on Thursday, was called by transporters in protest against electronic traffic challans, heavy fines and other regulatory measures imposed by authorities.

With buses and coaches largely absent from city roads, office workers, students and daily wage earners were forced to rely on private transport and expensive alternative travel options.

Despite the growing inconvenience to the public, no breakthrough has been achieved so far, and efforts to persuade transporters to return to negotiations have yet to produce results.

Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) President Haji Tawab Khan said the strike would continue after talks with police failed to reach an agreement.

He stated that transporters were dissatisfied with the outcome of negotiations and would maintain the protest for an indefinite period unless their concerns were addressed.

The prolonged suspension of public transport services has intensified difficulties for residents of Pakistan’s largest city, prompting calls for authorities and transport representatives to resolve the dispute through dialogue.
