According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of Defence Staff of the Republic of Ghana, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

Upon his arrival, the visiting dignitary was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security and bilateral defence cooperation. They agreed to further strengthen military ties and enhance collaboration in key areas, including joint training programmes, counter-terrorism efforts and defence production.

The Ghanaian military chief commended the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their contribution to regional peace and stability.

Separately, Ghana’s National Security Coordinator Abdul Razak Osman met Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters in Islamabad.

Lieutenant General Agyapong also attended the meetings, which focused on strengthening defence and security cooperation between the two countries.
