The report identified Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Bannu, Lakki Marwat and Kurram as the most sensitive districts during the first month of the Islamic calendar, which is marked by large mourning processions and gatherings.

More than 43,000 police personnel will be deployed across 14 districts during Muharram, while Frontier Corps (FC) platoons will assist police in the most sensitive areas, the report said.

The Pakistan Army will provide full support for security arrangements, according to the report.

Authorities have sent a request to the provincial Interior Department seeking partial suspension of mobile phone services in sensitive districts on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

The report said aerial surveillance would be conducted over mourning processions and their routes in sensitive and most sensitive districts.

Anti-drone systems will also remain operational to help prevent any unexpected incidents.
