During the meeting, Naqvi briefed the PM on his meetings held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conference in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

 “During the meeting, they also held consultations regarding the interior minister’s upcoming visit to Tehran. The prime minister provided guidance concerning the visit,” the PMO said.

Naqvi’s visit to Tehran is significant as Pakistan continues its efforts to mediate between the United States and Iran in a bid to end their more than three-month-long conflict.

Meanwhile, the PM and the interior minister also held a detailed discussion on the overall law and order and security situation in the country.

Naqvi briefed PM Shehbaz on the measures being taken to maintain law and order and ensure the protection of citizens across the country.

The prime minister emphasised the need for close coordination and a unified strategy among all relevant institutions to further strengthen law and order and enhance security nationwide, the PMO said.
