The protesters blocked the Pak-Afghan Highway, demanding improved security and action against those responsible for the attack.

The two men were shot dead by unknown assailants in the Sultan Khel area on Friday night, triggering widespread anger among local residents.

Following the protest, elders from both tribes convened a jirga to discuss the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the area.

According to a declaration issued after the jirga, all government and private educational institutions in Landi Kotal will remain closed until peace is fully restored. The jirga also announced a complete boycott of the ongoing anti-polio campaign.

The tribal gathering urged local residents employed in government departments, as well as police personnel belonging to the area, to participate in the protest movement as ordinary citizens. It said police officials should not attend demonstrations in uniform.

The jirga further warned that individuals who fail to participate in future protests could face a social boycott by the community.

As part of its decisions, the jirga also imposed a ban on the entry of motorcycle riders from outside the Tehsil Landi Kotal.

Residents said the area has remained tense since the fatal shooting, with community members demanding immediate measures to restore law and order and prevent further violence.
