&lt;p&gt;The prime minister will chair the meeting, which will be attended by federal ministers, chief ministers of the four provinces, the prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and the chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The NEC meeting is expected to approve the development budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 and review the country’s economic priorities for the coming year.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The sources said that the Economic Survey of Pakistan for the current fiscal year is likely to be presented on June 9, offering a detailed review of economic performance.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, the National Assembly has been summoned for a budget session scheduled for June 10 at 5pm.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Government sources confirmed that summaries have been sent to convene both the National Assembly and Senate sessions.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to sources, the upcoming federal budget is expected to propose Rs77 billion allocation for the education sector, representing an increase of Rs1.71 billion compared to the previous fiscal year (2025-26).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The sources said that ongoing projects in the education sector have been given higher priority over new initiatives.&lt;/p&gt;
