      <title>Pakistan to celebrate Eid al-Azha with nationwide prayers today</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Pakistan to celebrate Eid al-Azha on Wednesday with religious devotion and traditional fervour, as special prayer congregations are scheduled across the country under strict security arrangements.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In the federal capital, the main Eid congregation at the iconic Faisal Mosque will be held at 6:30 a.m. and led by Dr Muhammad Ilyas.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Hundreds of large and small Eid gatherings have also been arranged in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, where worshippers are expected to offer special prayers for peace, stability and prosperity of the country and the Muslim Ummah.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Religious scholars have urged citizens to participate in Eid prayers on time and cooperate with authorities by following traffic and security instructions.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Islamabad Police have announced a comprehensive security plan for Eid al-Azha following a high-level meeting chaired by Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to police officials, more than 7,000 police officers and personnel will perform security duties during Eid holidays, while over 450 traffic police officials will be deployed to maintain smooth traffic flow across the city.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Security at mosques, Eidgahs and major congregations, including Faisal Mosque, has been further strengthened, police said.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;According to Punjab Police, more than 45,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed to secure Eid prayers at 30,630 mosques and 907 open-air prayer venues across the province.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Under the security plan, 316 Quick Response Force teams will also remain on duty, while more than 11,000 metal detectors, walk-through gates and over 15,000 CCTV cameras will be used for monitoring and surveillance.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Punjab police chief also directed authorities to intensify monitoring of militants and anti-state elements, deploy plainclothes commandos at sensitive sites and further strengthen combing operations across the province.&lt;/p&gt;
