      <title>'Fight against terrorism will continue' until lasting peace</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed on Thursday that Pakistan’s fight against terrorism “will continue with full national resolve” until “enduring peace and stability” are achieved nationwide, the military’s media wing said.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Field Marshal Munir made the declaration at an investiture ceremony at General Headquarters, Rawalpindi, where he conferred military honours on officers, soldiers and families of “Shuhada” (martyrs), Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Awards conferred on the occasion included 50 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-i-Basalat, it added.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“Medals awarded posthumously were received with honour by families of Shuhada,” the statement said.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Paying tribute to the “Shuhada” and “Ghazis”, the Field Marshal stated “Shuhada and Ghazis remain the enduring pride of the nation. Their honour and sacrifice are a sacred trust for every Pakistani.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“Peace and security of our motherland are owed to their supreme sacrifices and unwavering devotion to duty,” he added.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Field Marshal Munir also expressed admiration for the “resilience, dignity and steadfastness” shown by families of Shuhada, acknowledging their sacrifices and commitment to the homeland.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He further appreciated the “operational preparedness and unwavering resolve” of Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies, lauding their sustained counter-terrorism efforts.&lt;/p&gt;
