Iran warns US of 'more surprises' if strikes resume

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that the Islamic Republic has “many more surprises” in store for the United States should Washington attempt renewed aggression, in remarks posted on X.

Araghchi said Iran would respond to any future attacks using “the lessons learned and knowledge we gained” from previous confrontations with the US.

He highlighted a recent US Congressional report that quantified the financial and material losses suffered by the American military during its latest operations against Iran.

The report details that, during 40 days of conflict, the US Air Force lost at least 42 aircraft, with estimated damages totalling around $2.6 billion.

Among the losses were four F-15E Strike Eagles, one F-35A Lightning II, one A-10 Thunderbolt II, seven KC-135 Stratotanker refuelling aircraft, one E-3 Sentry, two MC-130J Commando II aircraft, one HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopter, 24 MQ-9 Reaper drones, and one MQ-4C Triton drone.

According to Araghchi, US lawmakers cautioned that the actual financial impact could be significantly higher.

“Months after initiation of war on Iran, US Congress acknowledges loss of dozens of aircraft worth billions,” Araghchi wrote.

“Our powerful Armed Forces are confirmed as first to strike down a touted F-35.”
