According to officials, the two leaders exchanged views on recent developments in the region and ongoing contacts between Iran and the United States.

The discussion focused on Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement aimed at facilitating dialogue between Tehran and Washington and promoting lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi appreciated Pakistan’s “constructive mediation role” and reaffirmed Beijing’s support for Islamabad’s efforts.

Both sides also underscored the importance of maintaining a durable ceasefire between Iran and the United States and agreed on the need to ensure the uninterrupted movement of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

During the conversation, the two leaders also discussed events marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, along with high-level exchanges and bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Pakistan and China agreed to remain in close contact on all matters of mutual interest.
