Netflix hints at new chapter in Money Heist universe

Netflix has reignited excitement around the popular Spanish crime franchise Money Heist after teasing that the story is far from over, despite the original series ending years ago.

A new teaser released by Netflix has sparked fresh speculation among fans about a possible continuation of the franchise.

While no official Money Heist Season 6 has been announced, the teaser revisits scenes from the Royal Mint and Bank of Spain robberies, alongside references to “gold” and “priceless treasures.”

The teaser includes the lines: “The revolution isn’t over” and “The next step has already begun,” fuelling theories about future projects connected to the franchise.

The series, known for its red jumpsuits, Salvador Dalí masks and the song Bella Ciao, became one of Netflix’s biggest international hits and developed a global fan following.

Meanwhile, the franchise’s spin-off Berlin is set to return with its second season titled Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine on May 15, 2026.

Pedro Alonso will reprise his role as Berlin, with the story focusing on the character’s earlier years and a new heist set in Seville.

Reports also suggest Netflix may expand the franchise further through new international spin-offs and possible projects involving characters such as Colonel Tamayo and the Professor, played by Álvaro Morte.

The franchise previously expanded globally with Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area, adapting the original concept for a Korean setting.
