Under the revised rates, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs14.92 per litre, taking it from Rs399.86 to Rs414.78 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel was also raised, climbing from Rs399.58 to Rs414.58 per litre.

The new fuel prices will come into effect from May 9.

This marks the third consecutive increase in petroleum prices, following cumulative hikes of Rs33.28 per litre on petrol and Rs46.16 per litre on diesel over the previous two weeks.

Officials said the government has been reviewing petroleum prices every Friday night due to continuing volatility in international oil markets linked to the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.

The latest increase is expected to further raise transportation and commodity costs, adding to inflationary pressure on consumers across the country.
