Chairing the fourth meeting of the PERA force in Lahore, the chief minister ordered the scrutiny of 4,000 officers and personnel and warned that officials involved in illegal activities would face exemplary punishment.

She also approved the dismissal of seven officials allegedly involved in unlawful actions.

“Every individual’s record in PERA will be opened. Whoever is honest should remain fearless, while the dishonest should prepare themselves,” CM Maryam said during the meeting.

The chief minister stressed that there would be no compromise on public service and directed authorities to tighten the net around personnel accused of misconduct.

“Those involved in corruption or misuse of authority should be made an example,” she said.

The meeting was briefed on PERA’s operational affairs and ongoing reforms. Officials informed the chief minister that the force had obtained ISO certification and that the recruitment of 7,000 personnel would be completed by the end of June.

CM Maryam directed authorities to immediately repatriate officers with questionable reputations and ordered upgrades to PERA’s internal intelligence and whistleblower systems.

The meeting also discussed a proposal to establish a dedicated PERA academy in either Kallar Kahar or Murree/Kotli Sattian. The chief minister instructed officials to complete the academy within one year.

She emphasised the need to transform PERA into a fully dedicated regulatory force with improved discipline and institutional credibility.
