Hyderabad Kingsmen cruised into Eliminator 2 of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 after defeating Multan Sultans by eight wickets in a one-sided knockout match in Lahore on Wednesday.

Chasing a target of 160, Hyderabad Kingsmen completed the run chase in just 15.2 overs, losing only two wickets at Gaddafi Stadium.

The victory ended Multan Sultans’ campaign and kept Hyderabad’s title hopes alive.

Earlier, Multan Sultans managed 159 for 9 in their 20 overs after being put in to bat.

Captain Shan Masood anchored the innings with an unbeaten 69 off 46 balls, but received little support from the rest of the batting line-up.

Sahibzada Farhan scored 15, Mohammad Nawaz added 18, while Steve Smith contributed 13. The remaining batters failed to make an impact as Hyderabad bowlers kept the pressure on.

Aaqib Javed, Hunain Shah and Mohammad Ali picked up two wickets each, while Saim Ayub and Glenn Maxwell chipped in with one apiece.

In response, Hyderabad Kingsmen’s batters adopted an aggressive approach from the outset. Muaz Sadaqat and Usman Khan both struck 64 runs, putting on a match-winning partnership that effectively sealed the contest.

Captain Marnus Labuschagne scored 11, while Saim Ayub added an unbeaten 15 to finish the chase comfortably.

For Multan Sultans, Mohammad Ismail and Steve Smith claimed one wicket each.

With this win, Hyderabad Kingsmen move on to face Islamabad United in Eliminator 2 on Friday. The winner will meet Peshawar Zalmi in the HBL PSL 11 final on Sunday.

Peshawar Zalmi had earlier qualified for the final after defeating Islamabad United by 70 runs in the qualifier.
