Charge sheet filed against Imran Khan in prohibited funding case

A banking court in Islamabad has received a charge sheet in the prohibited funding case against former prime minister Imran Khan, marking a key development in the long-running matter.

Court officials said the registrar’s office has begun scrutiny of the challan, in which Khan has been named as the principal accused. The case is scheduled for hearing on April 30.

Separately, the Islamabad High Court has fixed for the same day the hearing of appeals filed by Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi against their conviction in the £190 million corruption reference.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif will hear the appeals.

The court had earlier scheduled the case for April 22, but proceedings were postponed due to security restrictions and road closures in Islamabad.

Both cases are part of a series of ongoing legal challenges faced by the former premier.
