Araghchi’s return to Islamabad is aimed at conveying an important message to Pakistani authorities, according to sources. His delegation had briefly returned to Tehran for consultations and is expected to rejoin him.

Araghchi travelled to Pakistan from Oman’s capital, where he held meetings with political leaders to discuss regional developments and bilateral relations.

Sources said Araghchi is scheduled to leave for Moscow later on Sunday.

The visit follows earlier talks in Islamabad between Iranian officials and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as well as military leaders, focusing on security issues and the evolving regional situation. Despite those discussions, no breakthrough was achieved.

Pakistani officials have said they remain willing to facilitate dialogue, keeping the door open for further diplomatic engagement.

Araghchi had previously left Islamabad on Saturday without progress in talks aimed at addressing tensions linked to the US-Israel stance toward Iran. Iranian officials described Washington’s position as “maximalist,” while US officials viewed Tehran’s demands as unacceptable, sources said.
