The “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” scheme will allocate agricultural land worth Rs160 billion to landless villagers, officials said, benefiting thousands of families.

Under the programme, successful applicants will receive land valued between Rs2.5 million and Rs4 million for a period of 10 years. A one-time grant will also be provided to support cultivation and settlement.

Applications for the scheme will be accepted from May 2 to May 18 through the newly launched online portal.

Officials said more than 100,000 families in Cholistan alone are expected to benefit, as part of a broader effort to promote agricultural development and economic stability.

Separately, the chief minister met renowned cardiologist Dr Hasnat Khan and congratulated him on assuming responsibilities at the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology.

The meeting focused on improving healthcare services and equipping the institute with modern medical facilities.

Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her commitment to upgrading the facility to international standards and promoting Punjab as a hub for medical tourism.
