Chasing a daunting 214-run target in HBL PSL 11 on Wednesday, Usman smashed 101 off just 47 balls. The knock, laced with aggressive stroke play, helped his side reach the target in the final over with six wickets down.

The century was Usman’s fourth in the Pakistan Super League, making him the leading century-scorer in the tournament’s history.

He has played 33 PSL matches, scoring one century in 2023 and two in 2024 before this latest milestone.

He now moves ahead of Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Kamran Akmal and Rilee Rossouw, all of whom have scored three PSL centuries each.

High-scoring contest

Earlier, Hyderabad Kingsmen won the toss and invited Multan to bat. Multan posted 213 for seven in their 20 overs.

Steve Smith led the charge with a blistering 106 off 47 balls, hitting six sixes and 12 fours. Sahibzada Farhan added 66, while Josh Philippe chipped in with 19. For Hyderabad, Akif Javed picked up three wickets.

In reply, Hyderabad rode on Usman’s brilliance, with Marnus Labuschagne contributing 61. Hassan Khan provided the finishing touch with an unbeaten 24 off just six balls.

Hyderabad Kingsmen completed the chase in the final over, sealing a four-wicket victory and earning two crucial points.

Usman Khan was named Player of the Match for his match-winning century.

The win lifts Hyderabad to fourth place with eight points from eight matches, while Multan Sultans remain second on 12 points.
