      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;More than 105,000 cases of alleged abduction of women have been reported in Punjab over the past five years, according to a report submitted by the provincial police chief to the Lahore High Court.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The report, filed by the Inspector General of Punjab Police, stated that 105,571 cases were registered between 2021 and 2025, with over 70,000 filed under Section 365.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It revealed that 80,767 cases were later cancelled, while in 77% of cases, women told courts they had not been abducted but had left home voluntarily for marriage.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Currently, 3,864 cases remain under investigation across the province.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Police have recovered 612 women, while 3,258 are still missing, the report said. Suspects have been nominated in 1,432 cases, where investigations are ongoing.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The IG Punjab said district officers have been directed to strictly monitor investigations, warning that negligence or misconduct would result in disciplinary action.&lt;/p&gt;
